How we build modified bitumen
Modified bitumen is a reinforced, asphalt-based membrane for low-slope roofs. It is commonly installed as a multi-ply system, so the base, membrane layers, and finished surface work together.
The first step is understanding what is already there. We inspect the existing roof and the layers beneath it so the new system has a suitable base.
Once we understand the roof, we put the assembly in writing: which materials we will use, how many layers are needed, and how they will be secured.

Fit the system to the building
SBS- and APP-modified membranes are not interchangeable. Application choices can also include self-adhered, cold-applied, heat-welded, mechanically fastened, or hot-applied systems, depending on the product and project.
